Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has addressed the topic of the 2019 CAF African Player of the Year award with three Premier League superstars within the final nominees.
With Mohamed Salah lifting the last two titles, this season, he is up against teammate Sadio Mane and Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez.
While Salah's record-breaking 2018/19 season made him a runaway winner last year, Mahrez and Mane's exploits for club and country this season has made for compelling competition this time around.

Mane, who came fourth for this season's Ballon d'Or, finished second behind the Egypt superstar in each of his triumphs at the CAF Awards gala - and Klopp admits he has no idea who should lift it on January 7.
"I have no clue," Klopp answered when asked about who is the worthy winner, as per the Express.
"I love them both, so for me it would be easy – there would be two first places, easy as that.
"I got this week another award so for somebody who is not believing in individual awards, especially not for managers, I got really a lot this year.
"They are both incredible players, so I don’t know what you would decide but somebody will decide it and they both would deserve it. That's it."
