Brockie finds form in Australia

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie has hit great form as he leads his Australian team on a title charge.

Brockie has impressed in the National Premier League Northern NSW since joining reigning champions Edgeworth Eagles as a free agent in February, just a month before the start of the 2021 season.

It did not take long for the veteran forward to make his mark, scoring in just his second match for the Eagles, and the man nicknamed "Sniper" has since carried on that form by earning multiple Team of the Week appearances.

According to the league's official website, Brockie is also currently leading the Golden Boot race with six goals, with the competition only 10 games in for the season.

The 33-year-old New Zealand international left South Africa in 2020 after enduring a frustrating spell with Sundowns and Maritzburg United, and scored just three goals in his last two seasons in the PSL.

Brockie, whose social media accounts still state that he is a free agent, has kept his side's hopes of back-to-back league titles alive by firing the club to within six points of the league-leaders Lambton Jaffas on the log standings.
