KickOff.com understands that a $1-million (R16m) contract has been agreed over the next four years as he returns to the Ghana top-flight for the first time since his professional breakthrough with Liberty Professionals in 2003.
It's been suggested by Ghana Web that 16-year-old wonderkid Mathew Anim Cudjoe is also added into the deal, with the teenager represented by Asamoah's business agent Samuel Anim Addo.
Cudjoe impressed in his short spell on loan with the two-time CAF Champions League winners and his move from Young Apostles proves a major coup for the club founded only 14-years ago.
Gyan scored over 200 professional goals in over 17 years abroad and will now look to offer his wealth of experience to the developing Ghana top-flight.
