Drogba's son nets first professional goal

African Football

Isaac Drogba, the son of Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, mimicked his father's iconic celebration after scoring his first professional goal over the weekend.

Drogba, 20, scored his first professional goal on Sunday afternoon when he netted a late match-winning effort in Folgore Caratese's 1-0 Italian Serie D victory over Caronnese.

The French-born striker slotted home the game's only goal following a goal-mouth scramble before setting off with his arms stretched out in celebration a style that fans will have been accustomed to seeing from his father.

The youngster joined the Italian minnows last month after previously spending time with the youth sides of Guingamp in France, and Chelsea in England.

Drogba Snr. is one of the most prolific strikers to hail from the African continent after starring for the likes of Olympique Marseille, Chelsea and Galatasaray, among others, while he remains Côte d'Ivoire's all-time record goalscorer with 65 goals.
