Ex-Bucs winger Morrison arrested

Former Orlando Pirates winger Bernard Morrison has been arrested in Tanzania after allegedly been caught in possession of illegal narcotics.

Morrison, 27, joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC after an ill-fated stint in South Africa with Pirates in which he failed to command a regular starting berth despite his obvious talent.

The Ghanian was then lured to Yanga by Luc Eymael, who was fired this week after his alleged racial slurs went viral on social media.

While Morrison quickly became a fan favourite in the Tanzanian top-flight with several eye-catching displays en route to finishing as runners-up behind champions Simba SC, his stay has still managed to be shrouded in controversy.

His showboating was the first issue that arose before he left the stadium after being substituted by Eymael in a recent league encounter. But his latest offence has now seen him run into trouble with the law after local police arrested him.

KickOff.com understands that Morrison was found in possession of marijuana by Dar es Salaam officials during a routine search at a roadblock and was taken into custody.

It has been confirmed that he was released on bail shortly after his arrest and is set to appear in court for his transgression.
