The win extended the Red Devils' perfect start to the league campaign and also saw them leapfrog Zamalek into top spot.

However, there will be rewards as club president Mahmoud El Khatib has decided cancel the fines imposed on the coaches and players after the Super Cup loss in September.

El Khatib also confirmed that the team will receive a bonus for the exception win.

"Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly President, congratulated Al Ahly players, coaching staff, medical staff, administrative staff, Al Ahly members and Al Ahly fans after the team’s historic 5-3 win over Zamalek on Friday night," the statement on the club website read.

"El Khatib praised the spirit and the determination of the players during the game and thanked them for the great performance they produced tonight.

"El Khatib also decided to cancel the penalty issued over the team after losing the domestic Super Cup and also decided to grant the team an exceptional bonus after the historic victory."
