'Ahly Players & coach must share blame'

African Football

A Former Al Ahly striker claims it's unfair to solely pin the blame on Pitso Mosimane for the Egypt Super Cup loss and says the players must also take responsibility.

The Red Devils suffered their first-ever defeat to El-Gaish in the Super Cup on Tuesday evening, with the encounter being decided on penalties.

Both the coaches and the players were fined by the club for the shock loss and while Mosimane has come in for some criticism, Ahmed Belal claims the players must share the blame.

“Mosimane and the players share the blame for the loss, each according to their competencies,” the former Egypt international told Al Ahly TV.

“Al Ahly didn’t deserve to win today, due to the misuse of the opportunities that they got.

“Al Ahly dealt poorly with the balls, even Mohamed Sherif control’s was bad when he was alone in front of goal,” he concluded.
