Al Ahly make final decision on star duo

Al Ahly have responded to reports that the club are looking to offload Badr Benoun and Taher Mohamed Taher.

The Red Devils have bolstered their attack in recent weeks with the arrival of Percy Tau from Brighton and Hove Albion and former Simba SC star Luis Miquissone.

There were rumours that the CAF Champions League holders were looking to offload Benoun and Taher, but the the club's head of transfers, Amir Tawfik insist the duo will not be leaving.

"Amir Tawfik, head of Al Ahly’s transfers department, denied the rumors that claimed that both Badr Benoun and Taher Mohamed Taher will be sent on loan," the club announced on their website.

"Tawfik stated that Taher and Benoun, Al Ahly’s football first team duo, are key players and that the coaching staff will depend on them in the upcoming period.

"Finally, Tawfik made sure to state that the club did not discuss the possibility of loaning out both players.
