Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz has warned the team that their CAF Champions League opener on Saturday afternoon will not be a walk in the park.

Pitso Mosimane's charges will begin the defence of their Champions League title against Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale in Niger.

After winning the last two editions of the tournament without any fans in attendance, the club have confirmed that there will be 7500 fans will attend the clash at Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey.

Abdelhafiz is hopeful that the Red Devils get off to a positive start but warned the players need to be focused.

“We are hoping to achieve a good result tomorrow, it would be great to have a good start in our new journey,” Abdelhafiz said, as per KingFut.

“The game won’t be easy as some people claim, it will take a lot of effort, and everyone needs to be fully focused.”

This is the second year in a row that the 'Club of the Century' have started their Champions League campaign in Niger, having defeated AS SONIDEP last year.
