Al Ahly boss hails Pitso's stars

Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz was full of praise for Pitso Mosimane's charges after reaching the Club World Cup semi-finals.

The Red Devils were without a number of key individuals for the encounter, but showed great courage to secure a 1-9 win over CF Monterrey on Saturday evening.

The win means Mosimane's charges have qualified for back-to-back semi-finals and they will be hoping to go one better after losing to Bayern Munich last year.

“We were focused, concentrated, and didn’t think of any external factors. Thank God we were able to deliver," Abdelhafiz said, as per the club's official website.

“The whole team became motivated to win especially after seeing the tough circumstances they were in prior to the game.”

“Of course, Palmeiras will be looking forward to defeating us in the semi-finals, especially since we were able to win third place last year by defeating them in the bronze medal game. However, our players also have great ambitions to reach the final.”
