Al Ahly assistant coach Samy Komsan has apologised to the supporters after failing to defend the Egyptian Premier League title.
The Red Devils were pipped to the league title by Zamalek with a game to spare earlier in the week, ending the club's six-year hold on the title.
Despite missing out on the league title, Pitso Mosimane's charges finished third at the Club World Cup and won yet another CAF Champions League title.
The Al Ahly assistant coach says they will look to bounce back in the Egypt Cup after apologising to the fans.
“I want to apologize to all Al Ahly fans for this year’s Egyptian Premier League failure," Kosman told ONTime Sports, as per KingFut.
“Club President Mahmoud El Khatib spoke about the reasons causing the defeat, but we have to apologize to the fans.
“El Khatib’s speech affected us greatly, we take full responsibility, and we made a promise to each other that the team must perform better in the upcoming period.
“We are now aiming for the Egypt Cup title, we know that Al Ahly fans want us to win every competition we participate in.” he concluded.
