Adebayor joins ninth club of career


Togo icon Emmanuel Adebayor has joined a ninth professional club of his career, signing a one-year contract with Turkish Super Lig outfit Kayserispor.

After leaving league runners-up Istanbul Basaksehir at the end of last season, the veteran striker has been snapped up by their domestic rivals.

Adebayor scored 28 goals in 78 games for the Super Lig side but they opted not to renew his contract after falling out of favour during the latter stages of the 2018/19 campaign.
The former CAF African Player of the Year joins a heavy African contingent at his new club with Ivorian Brice Dja Djedje, Ghana's Bernard Mensah, Nigeria's Anthony Uzodimma and Cameroon's Paul-Georges Ntep.
