Record seven-time AFCON winners Egypt have confirmed of their final 23-man squad headlined by CAF African Player of the Year Mohamed Salah.
Egypt were awarded the rights to host the continental showpiece this year ahead of South Africa after Cameroon were stripped of the honour by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) - after falling behind in preparations.
In the first edition of the expanded 24-team tournament that will be held between 21 June to 19 July, the two-time Premier League Golden boot winner, Salah, is expected to lead the expectant nation to glory.
He's joined by Kasimpasa winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan, who had a standout season in the Super Lig and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Veteran wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady, who earned promotion with Aston Villa has been confirmed as captain by head coach Javier Aguirre.
Egypt will compete in Group A alongside, DR Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe and open the tournament against the Warriors in nine days time.
