Prior to the enforced break, a number of players had begun to leave their mark on the qualification campaign, including Nigeria's Victor Osimhen, Senegal's Amara Diedhiou and Tunisia's Wahbi Khazri, all of whom scored three goals across their nations' opening two matches.
The trio leads a pack of nine other players who have scored double figures in the group stages of qualifying thus far, including Zimbabwe's Khama Billiat and the Algerian pairing of Baghdad Bounedjah and Youcef Belaili who have all netted twice.
Former Chippa United striker Aristide Bance also features with two goals for Burkina Faso, although he will be unable to add to his tally after retiring from international football in July.
