Eto'o son takes another huge step

Etienne Eto'o, the son of African legend Samuel has been awarded the no.10 shirt after being called up to the U-20 Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations squad.

Eto'o, 18, is finally able to represent the country of his father's birth after a presidential decree that prohibits the selection of young expatriates in any age group below U-17s saw him kicked out of their U-17 AFCON squad.

The Oviedo striker is now amongst eight expatriates selected in the squad by Christophe Ousmanou who kicked off the tournament against hosts Mauritania on Sunday.

Ousmanou sprung a surprise by only releasing the squad hours before the opening game that didn't have U-17 captain and Toulouse wonderkid Steve Mvoué included.

Etienne was an unused substitute as they beat the hosts 1-0 to move to the summit of Group A but will target his youth national team debut when they face Uganda (February 17) before Mozambique (February 20).
