Bafana Bafana's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group C rivals Ghana have been a dealt a blow after German-born forward Jamie Leweling snubbed an international call-up.
Ghana's preparations for this month's AFCON qualifiers against Sudan have suffered an inconvenient disruption after Greuther Furth forward Leweling reportedly rejected a call-up to the national team, despite being named in Charles Akonnor's squad.
According to GhanaSoccer.net, the 19-year-old has elected against honouring the Black Stars' call-up due to his ongoing commitment to the Germany youth ranks, having already represented the European nation at U19 and U20 levels.

Leweling, who was born in Nurnberg to a Ghanaian mother, primarily operates as a winger but is also capable of playing as a second striker, and has recorded three goals and two assists at club level since making his senior debut last year.
His apparent snub comes as a blow for Akonnor ahead of Thursday's clash against Sudan with Ghana already without the services of star midfielder Thomas Partey, who was ruled out of the encounter through injury.
