'Mshishi' hurt his hamstring in training and has joined defender goalkeeper Denis Onyango, defender Rivaldo Coetzee and the attack-minded Sibusiso Vilakazi on the sidelines - much to the disbelief of coach Pitso Mosimane.
"Rivaldo is out. [Motjeka] Madisha stepped on him at training. Unfortunately it was an accident," Mosimane said.
"We lost Mshishi at training through a hamstring. It's unbelievable."
Onyango, who has been nominated for the CAF African Player of the Year award along with ex-Downs teammate Percy Tau, has been out since injuring his knee in the Tshwane derby league win over SuperSport United at the beginning of the month.
Coetzee only made his debut for the Brazilians in the Champions League against Leones Vegetarianos in Equatorial Guinea last month and impressed again in the Tshwane derby following his signing from Ajax Cape Town in August 2017. However, he picked up another knock in training.
Vilakazi was also on form for the Absa Premiership champions before rupturing his Achilles tendon during a Bafana Bafana practice match with SuperSport United in October.
