'Celtic can't afford a pity party'

Celtic lost 1-0 in the Telkom Knockout final to Bidvest Wits on Saturday after conceding in stoppage time at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban.

Phunya Sele Sele will have to lift themselves for tonight's Premiership contest with AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium (19h30) in Umlazi.

"I must concede that losing in such a painful manner last weekend against Bidvest Wits in the final some how affected the team but after in-depth motivation from the technical team, our players realised that a win in the AmaZulu encounter is even more crucial to redeem ourselves," Mothokoa told the club's website.

"It won’t be easy to play against AmaZulu. Unfortunately there is no time for self-pity because accumulating as many points as we can before the December break must be our priority.

"I have faith in the players and I trust that they will recover and do well. We are blessed to have experienced players who know how to handle different situations and also help in preparing the youngsters psychologically."

Veselin Jelusic's side are eighth on the table with 16 points from 11 games - two point more than Usuthu.

Siwelele will also play Free State Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United before the year is out.
