Konqobe revived his career at Amabhubesi in 2016/17 after being released by Ajax Cape Town, featuring in 29 of the promoted club's 30 league games.
Aftersec Sport Group representative Lizwe Mthethwa expects his 21-year-old client to impress on his return to the Premiership next season.
"Thanda Royal Zulu are so happy with Aya's performance this season that they have not only taken up a one-year option they had on his previous contract but they have decided to offer us a new long-term deal," Mthethwa tells KickOff.com.
"What they have done shows his importance to the team and any interested clubs will have to approach Thanda with a really good offer.
"The boy, without a doubt is the best centre-back in the NFD and he'll carry that form into the PSL next season.
"We are really happy that he has helped the team accomplish their mission of winning the league."
Meanwhile, Konqobe is grateful for the belief shown in him by coach Roger Sikhakhane, who is said to be recovering well in hospital from an illness.
"You know Roger is a very cheeky guy and he likes to play and he's always happy," says a smiling Kunqobe.
"But on a serious note, the thing I like about him is he understands his players. I feel with him we struck a good understanding and obviously other players understand the coach.
"And I want to thank Roger for that, the technical team, players that I played with, it was a united front. I feel from the start to the end we assisted each other.
"Roger made us, we adapted to that mentality, and we couldn't get the defeat [in the first half of the season] and it has been like that since the start of the season."
