Letsoaka was appointed as head tactician at Ea Lla Koto in January after the sudden departure of Giovanni Solinas, returning to the club he retired from as a player in 1996.
The former SuperSport United assistant coach lost his first game in charge, against log leaders Kaizer Chiefs when the season resumed at the beginning of February, before playing out a draw against Matsatsantsa last week.
The win against his former club Arrows on Saturday saw Letsoaka's Stars move four points clear of the relegation zone, and the coach feels the four points he has garnered in his three matches is a sign of things to come.
"When we started we planned to say we've got 15 games, and the next eight games, let's make sure that we are away from the drop zone and maybe we [can be] fighting for the top eight. Maybe we [can be] fighting to consolidate our position in the top eight," he said.
"Slowly, surely it’s getting there. Four points with three games; we'll be happy with that."
Meanwhile, Letsoaka says they are trying their level best to help striker Moeketsi Sekola end this season on a high after he signed a pre-contract with strugglers Highlands Park during the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who was the PSL Golden Boot winner in the 2014/15 season, has only scored once this season - in the Telkom Knockout round of 16 against Bidvest Wits - and is yet to score in the league in 17 matches he has played so far this term.
"We are professionals at Free State Stars and I know with a lot of teams when you've signed a pre-contract they always pass you out... you are an outcast," added the former SAFA technical director.
"But this is one thing that you've to understand: players will move. If the player has got a better contract somewhere, why should we stand in his way?
"Secondly, we are saying, as professionals, he's left with six months [on his deal with Free State Stars]. When he signed a contract that'll be ending in June, we are trying to make sure that he finishes his contract well."
Stars' next match will see them return to KwaZulu-Natal against Maritzburg United on Sunday at Harry Gwala Stadium.
