Ngobeni has requested to leave Sundowns due to a lack of game-time at Chloorkop. Ea Lla Koto have already approached the Brazilians for the goalkeeper who spent last season on loan in the Free State. Ngobeni enjoyed his time at Stars last season, playing 29 matches in all competitions. He is yet to feature for Sundowns this season.
“There is big interest. Probably [he] will be released to go to Free State Stars to fight for [his] position. We can’t be too greedy and keep him here with Razak [Brimah], Kennedy [Mweene] and [Denis] Onyango. We are humans,” said Mosimane.
“He always bails us out when we need him. We brought him last time because of the Champions League spot. Razak was not registered and I promised him we will give him time when the next transfer comes and I think we will do that. He is our boy, we love him,” the former Bafana Bafana coach added.
Sundowns, meanwhile, paraded their new signings Aubrey Ngoma, Jeremy Brockie and Gastón Sirino during the league match against Platinum Stars at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday. Sundowns beat Stars 3-0, thanks to goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Khama Billiat, who scored a brace.
Billiat’s performance would no doubt have supporters hoping he stays beyond the current season. His contract is set to expire in June and there is interest both locally and internationally.
