Chippa to unveil Mayambela on Tuesday

Mayambela has penned a three-year contract with United and is set to join his teammates at the club’s pre-season training camp in Durban on Tuesday following his release from the Urban Warriors.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder is returning to the Chilli Boys for a second spell after he left the club to join Supersport United three seasons ago, having scored two goals in just ten starts in Port Elizabeth.

According to a source close to the club, midfielder Mahlatse Makudubela is also set to join the squad at their base in Durban on Tuesday.

"The deal is done,” the source revealed. "Mayambela is flying down to Durban to join the club for pre-season tomorrow.

"Makudubela is also set to arrive tomorrow.”

The player himself seemed to have also hinted at the imminent announcement via his social media account.

Besides the arrival of Mayambela, it has also been reported that goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo is also set to join Chippa United from Orlando Pirates.

However, efforts to get hold of United boss Chippa Mpengesi regarding the proposed transfer proved futile after failed to return our calls.
