As confirmed by KickOff.com yesterday, Chippa’s frontman is the latest Usuthu signing as the club continues to rebuild their squad after last season’s tough National First Division campaign in which they finished fourth.
“The club has bolstered their attacking arsenal with the addition of former Chippa United striker, Rhulani Manzini who has been drafted in on a three year deal,” read a statement on the club’s website.
“Welcoming of the 29-year-goal poacher to Usuthu set up will see 22-year-old defender, Ayabulela Konqobe going to the Port Elizabeth based Chippa United on a swap deal.”
AmaZulu General manager Lunga Sokhela feels Manzini is the perfect addition to the current squad.
“We welcome Rhulani to AmaZulu and hope that he will be a good addition to the squad,” he said. “As for Ayabulela Konqobe, we wish him all the best.”
Manzini, who was troubled by injuries last season, scored nine goals in 16 appearances for the Chilli Boys last season.
