SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has explained the absence of midfielder Thabo Qalinge during the friendly game against Township Rollers in Pretoria on Sunday.

Qalinge has been training with United for the past few days but was a noticeable absentee during the game against Rollers, who are currently in the country for pre-season training.

"Yes he has been training with us but he got sick, he got piles. The doctor checked with him. He is sick at the moment as far as I am concerned," said Tembo.

Also missing from the game against the Botswana team was Bafana Bafana duo Dean Furman, and Rownen Williams, and Zimbabwe striker Evans Rusike.

"Dean Furman and Ronwen Williams will join us when we return back from Stellenbosch after seven days," Tembo added. "We decided to given them a break to spend time with their families.

"We have given Evans two days off and he will join us tomorrow."
