Hlompho: No joy beating Wayne, Senzo

Kekana netted a brace in a 3-1 win over Orlando Pirates last night, which included a wonder-goal struck from inside his own half past Sandilands at Orlando Stadium.

The strike brought back memories of Kekana's 2016 Puskas Award-nominated screamer for Bafana Bafana against Cameroon in an African Nations Cup qualifier in Yaounde.

Kekana previously also scored from range in Soweto against ex-Bucs keeper Meyiwa, who was murdered three years ago in Vosloorus.

"The goals I score here in Orlando look good on video but for me it's good that we won the match,” said Kekana.

“However, I don’t enjoy them because I score against people close to my heart.

“Remember the late Senzo was close to my heart. Wayne is also close to my heart. He was a church pastor at Mamelodi Sundowns.

“So it's a difficult thing to do to score against Wayne but we have to do it.”

Downs' victory over Pirates snapped a three-game losing streak and lifted the Tshwane giants to eighth on the Premiership table with 12 points from seven matches.
