Mulenga came off the bench to score a stunning winner in Pirates’ 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
"I'm very happy for him, he decided the match with wonderful strike," Sredojevic said after the victory which kept the second-placed Buccaneers within touching distance of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
"It is something that brought him this side and I know what he is capable of and I strongly believe that after a period of acclimatisation, the goal will inject him and help up his confidence and give us more in the next matches."
Micho added that he knew Mulenga's experience of playing on the continent will be vital for the Buccaneers. He played in the CHAN tournament in Morocco in January, scoring three goals, and also played in CAF club competitions with his former club Zanaco.
It’s the experience he can use if Pirates qualify for next year’s CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup.
"With the experience that he got in Champions League of Africa, he brings it here. We are having five matches to go [in the league], let him feel like a final of a Champions League match.
“Let him enjoy being here and leave pressure on us for him to be able to express his talent to prove a point that he is at the right place.
"This five foreigners are the best we have and they are doing well and we are happy for them."
Mulenga will have another opportunity to impress when the Buccaneers take on SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday.
