Vilakazi: Bucs loss was a wake-up call

Usuthu are currently sitting in 11th spot but are only four points above the relegation zone, and Vilakazi believes they need to change their mindset for the last nine league matches.

"It was not a good game for us, they [Pirates] were better than us, it's something that must not happen again," he said.

"We must use those results as a wake-up, especially as we want to finish in the top eight. We must avoid mistakes from now on going forward.

"The coach [Cavin Johnson] also spoke to us about mistakes we made against Pirates, it shouldn't happen again."

The skipper went on to reveal that as players they also had a conversation to change things and do better for the club as he believes it was not acceptable to lose like that.

"As players we had a talk and discussed what needed to be done for change, we need to remind ourselves we represent a big brand and that must be protected," Vilakazi added.

AmaZulu will face bottom club Maritzburg United on Friday night (20h00) in a KwaZulu-Natal derby.
