Nedbank Cup champions TS Galaxy will make their first ever appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup and their preliminary round opponents have been revealed.
The National First Division side made history by becoming the first second tier side to win the Nedbank Cup, beating Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in May.
By so doing, they booked themselves a spot in the 2019/20 Confederation Cup, along with Bidvest Wits, who finished third in the Absa Premiership last season.
Galaxy will face St Louis from Seychelles in the preliminary round.
Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has recently spoken to KICKOFF Magazine about the club’s desire to do well in the competition and not just add numbers. They have an opportunity to shine against St Louis and progress, but it won’t be easy.
The Clever Boys, meanwhile, have a bye in the preliminary and they will face the winner between Buildcon FC from Zambia and or Eswatini’s Young Buffaloes.
