It seems Mamelodi Sundowns won’t give up in their quest to sign a key SuperSport United winger and they are ready to offer one of their own players to sweeten the deal.
Despite the fact that SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews said that they would not be selling Aubrey Modiba to any local club, Sundowns are not the type of team to back down when they are looking to sign a player they really want.
Head coach Pitso Mosimane has been a big admirer of Modiba and would love to have the player on board ahead of the new campaign, to bolster the squad which will be playing both domestically and on the continent in the CAF Champions League.
It is understood that SuperSport and Sundowns are currently in serious talks regarding a deal to have Modiba go to Chloorkop and Aubrey Ngoma go the other way.
KickOff.com has been reliably informed by a source close to both clubs that Masandawana want out-of-favour Ngoma to be included in the deal.
"Mamelodi Sundowns are desperate to land Modiba. They are negotiating with SuperSport United, who also want Ngoma to be included in the deal," according to the source.
Ngoma has been struggling to get game-time at Sundowns since he joined them from Cape Town City in January 2018.
SuperSport CEO Matthews was unavailable for comment while Matsatsantsa spokeperson David Skhosana asked to be called back, but did not answer his phone despite several attempts after that.
Thulani Thuswa at Sundowns said: "But everyone has been speculating about that, it's everywhere. Please text me on whatsapp for further comments, I'm currently in a meeting."
