The Lions of The North return to the National First Division having spent only one season in the Absa Premiership.
Both Mbesuma and Moriri joined the club at the start of this past season with the former leaving Mpumalanga Black Aces and the latter released by Mamelodi Sundowns after his contract not renewed.
Zambian international Mbesuma, who was the PSL top scorer in 2015/16, was brought in to help the club with goals but was troubled by injuries and only scored four goals in 15 appearances.
Moriri, 37-year-old, was brought in to bring balance, inspiration and composure to the midfielder but did little to reinvigorate a team that was lacking character.
Club director Brad Kaftel says they intend to keep the duo along with the bulk of their squad but talks will only start next week when he returns from overseas as he boarded a plane last night.
"We are intent on keeping all our players. We're certainly looking to take the PSL team to the NFD and compete very hard," Kaftel tells KickOff.com.
"So we looking to retain all our players. The players that are under contracts will stay with us, the players that have contracts that are expiring will be renegotiated with or let go. But the bulk of our players are under contract, so we intend on keeping the bulk our players.
"For Surprise Moriri, he's out of contract but he's a fantastic guy, fantastic player, he's a South African legend and we'll engage with him. If he's interested [playing in the NFD] then I'm sure we'll be interested and we'll engage with him.
"Collins Mbesuma is also the same thing, I haven't met with him and we'll be meeting next week.
"At this stage we haven't had the chance and we just sort of said let's take a break, I'm going overseas and when I'm back next week we'll meet with them."
