Ritchie was released early from his contract at SuperSport United upon the turn of the year, and was quickly snapped up by the reigning Absa Premiership champions.
The 27-year-old left-back has made his fourth appearances for the Clever Boys since his arrival when they beat Maritzburg United 2-1 on Tuesday.
Hunt was left especially impressed with former Kaizer Chiefs defender’s first-half display, and felt he should have been awarded the man of the match award ahead of Buhle Mkhwanazi.
The four-time league-winning tactician also accredited his side’s resurgence to players that have come in and occupied key positions that they had been lacking in the first half.
“Sometimes you have players playing in the right positions. I mean, Keagan Ritchie – I thought he was man of the match tonight,” said Hunt after the match.
“He came in as a left-back, where he’s always played even at Chiefs, but he’s a centre-midfield player in my opinion. He was magnificent.
“Ja, obviously he’s unfit because he hasn’t played, but he’s a great player. He’s got a left-foot but can balance and he can do what he did in the first half. He keeps the ball well and he’s a good player.”
