Tom played the first four games of the campaign before losing his place at left-back to Lehlohonolo Nonyane.
“The truth is that I have had a calf and quad injuries which I have battled with forcing me to be and off at training. These are the injuries that have really disturbed me,” Tom tells KickOff.com.
“Luckily, I am back up and running fighting my way back to the team. I am happy that I have already spent two weeks back at training and I have played three friendly matches without feeling any pain so this is something that is motivating me.”
The experienced fullback adds that his only challenge now is to get back into the starting line-up and maintains he has not had any thoughts of moving away from the club.
Tom joined Aces from Arrows along with Thanduyise Khuboni, who has only made a single appearance for AmaZayoni.
“Some people might think the change of cities from Durban to Johannesburg has not done me well but the truth of the matter is that in our careers as footballers we must move.
“I spent a long time [seven years] in Durban and I had grown accustomed to the city but that is no excuse. The only challenge that I have is to get to play again and I am up to that challenge.”
