Chiefs will face the Absa Premiership log leaders at the Bidvest Stadium this evening, with kick-off scheduled for 19h30.
Currently in eighth position on the standings, Amakhosi are 12 points off the top and their hopes of a resurgence in the title race hangs by a thread.
Since undergoing a coaching change, it has become apparent that Middendorp has brought some structure and organisation to the team, and the German feels they have what it takes to overcome any test that lies ahead.
“I’m calling on all in the team to bring their A-game. We have to, everyone should show bravery tonight,” Middendorp told his club’s website.
“We will do all that is possible to win this game. That’s if we go in with full confidence and the will to win. We have all that it takes to win any match.
“Of course, Wits are a tough opponent, but they’re not an exception. We must use all that’s in our control to take charge of this match.”
The former Maritzburg United mentor has also stressed the importance of converting their chances, after they registered just one shot on target against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
“If there’s any player who struggles to be motivated to do well against the table-toppers, they’ll be in the wrong job,” he added.
“This match is not about league positions. It’s about playing the Wits side that’s currently on a high. We will apply all our resources to beat them. We must just convert our chances.”
