Rusike joined Matsatsantsa last month as a replacement for Jeremy Brockie who left for Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Zimbabwean striker opened his account in SuperSport’s 4-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday. The victory moved them up into 11th place on 24 points.
Tinkler says Rusike has the potential to score plenty of goals with SuperSport.
“I think he can [score many goals]. He has the ability. He has shown that he is a goal scorer,” said Tinkler.
“If we can get back to our ways, our brand of football, the type of football we play, I think he will score not just a few but plenty.”
Despite their victory over Phunya Sele Sele, Tinkler is not getting ahead of himself. He says the monkey is not off their backs yet.
SuperSport, who have registered just six victories this season, are far from safe, just three points ahead of Ajax Cape Town, who occupy the promotion-relegation play-off spot.
“One game is not enough. We need now to continue. We need to get another win and if we can do that then yes, I would say the monkey is off the back.”
