Ngwepe: I will play until I'm 40

Since joining City at the beginning of the season, Ngwepe has only played four games with his last appearance coming back in September against his former club Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 37-year-old has been kept out of the team by another veteran left-back, Joseph Musonda, who has performed exceptionally well for a man turning 38 in May.

“I haven’t been playing because the team has been doing well this season. Being the professional that I am, I understand. I was in the team at the beginning of the season but then got suspended and then got injured and when I came back I just couldn’t walk straight back in,” Ngwepe tells

Though he has battled to play regularly this season, Ngwepe makes known his intention of playing until his 40th birthday.

“I will definitely play until I reach 40 because I feel I am still capable of competing until that age. I have always been a disciplined player who neither drinks nor smokes. Right now I am still able to compete and run just as fast as all players younger than me,” says Ngwepe.
