Free State Stars have added striker Eleazar Rodgers to their long list of players that will not be part of their new life in the National First Division next season.
Rodgers played 26 matches for Ea Lla Koto in all competitions and scored four goals.
"I have been released from the club, or most of us have been released," Rodgers informs KickOff.com.
"I'm still finalising things before I leave, but ja you could say I'm gone. We got relegated and the club can no longer afford those who are left."
The former Santos frontman was asked if he would have agreed to go down with the club if he was asked to do so.
"We never thought we would go down so I never thought of it," he says. "I guess there was always a level of uncertainty to stay or leave. But I'm loyal so if it came to that then it would be fine, but ja it didn't."
