Cavin: Ajax owe Dikwena

Dikwena, who are in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup, are 10th on the Absa Premiership table with 26 points from 24 matches - four points above the drop zone.

Johnson's side next visit 11th-placed Ajax Cape Town in the league at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday looking to improve on a 1-1 home draw with Free State Stars last time out and avenge a 3-2 defeat in the reverse fixture.

Johnson told his club's website: "From now on, we classify all our games as cup finals. Everything now is a cup final. Against Ajax, it’s more than a cup final, it’s a must-win for us. We can get a positive result in Cape Town even though it is not easy. We need to get a result. They owe us. We gave them free three points when they came to Rustenburg.

"We need to get our three points in Cape Town. Midweek it was a cup final for us against Free State Stars and this Sunday is no different.”

The former Ajax youth coach remembers his charges squandered a number of chances when the sides previously met in November in Rustenburg.

"We missed so many chances in that match. We dominated the second half. We had about four one-on-one situations that we couldn’t convert. The most painful was with 30 seconds left on the clock. [Sibusiso] Msomi had no goalkeeper to beat. He hit the crossbar. Benson [Shilongo] and Abia [Nale] also missed one-on-ones."

He added: "It’s frustrating to miss chances but we mustn’t put too much pressure on players in those positions. They are putting the effort to play a good game of football. The missing of chances is just a mental thing. They will get it right. They will get much better."
