Lakay (26) and Booysen (29) both hail from the Mother City, but took different paths in their professional careers which span over nine and 10 years respectively.
While Lakay had to seek greener pastures up north, Booysen was based at one of the best academies on the continent with Ajax before also migrating up country.
The duo returned to their hometown recently, but turn out for rival clubs.
“We are eager to do the double over them again and we are in no mood for any favours,” Lakay tells KickOff.com.
“We know each others' strengths and weaknesses so it will be an interesting game. They are on a high for obvious reasons, their first win [3-1 defeat of Platinum Stars] in a while and also their new coach in Muhsin Ertugral.
“He definitely has brought new vigour and spirit to the club and we cannot underestimate them. But we are City and not too focused on our opposition as we want to satisfy our fans and give them bragging rights.”
Booysen, meanwhile, suggested that the Citizens will be regarded as favourites for this clash after winning their previous three meetings.
“Their position on the log also suggests that but we are not too worried about who we play against. This game is as important as any other game as we need the points.
“Our focus is to get out of the relegation zone and we need to beat City to achieve this. But it’s going to be an interesting and exciting game for the players against some of their friends,” says Booysen.
