Both sides were looking to return to winning ways after they only managed to secure draws against Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic respectively in their last encounters.
The game started off with both sides showing little desire to get the three points on display, as they were more reduced to a midfield battle where both sides struggled to break into the final third.
Unsurprisingly the home side created the first chance at goal which came after enjoying a lion share of possession that was undone by poor finishing from sharp-shooter Rodney Ramagalela and Wiseman Maluleke on the half and hour mark.
They continued pressing for the opener, but were constantly led by woeful finishing from Walter Musona and Ramagalela as the first half ended goalless.
The second half started pretty much the way the first period ended with both sides taking their time to get into the game.
Both sides rang the changes in an effort to change the complexity of the game, with Usuthu introducing Rhulani Manzini for the ineffective Camaldine Abraw.
The former Chippa United striker last only few minutes and was replaced by Siyabonga Nomvethe before the 20th minute mark.
On the other hand, the Rise and Shine introduced Thabiso Semenya and Puleng Tlolane for Thapelo Tshilo and Musona respectively.
Those respective introductions did little to change the spell of the game as it remained a carbon copy of the first period.
As such, both sides settled for a point apiece in barmy but sweltering Polokwane City.
