Wits held at Arrows

The hosts were on the scoresheet as early as the 11th minute when Richard Henyekane ran onto Ntlantla Zothwane’s excellent pass before beating Francis Chansa.

It was 2-0 on the half-hour mark, with Henyekane again involved. His rasping shot from distance was too hot for the keeper to handle and the rebound fell to Njabulo Manqana to tap home.

Wits’ reply was almost instantaneous – Justin Miller heading Sifiso Myeni’s set-piece into the back of the net.

That’s the way it stayed until half-time, but Arrows went further ahead on 58 minutes when Zothwane netted after good build-up play involving Richard Henyekane and Manqana. This followed goalkeeper Khuzwayo’s excellent save off Mark Haskins.

Haskins was not to be denied though, and he got his goal on 63 minutes when he headed home Tshabalala’s cross.

The comeback was complete on 75 minutes when substitute Thando Mngomeni’s shot was tipped onto the bar, allowing Myeni to stab home for a share of the spoils.
