SuperSport lost the game 2-1, with Khumalo getting replaced by Brandon Dean in the 89th minute at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
With United facing Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout Final on Saturday, Matsatsantsa manager Godfrey Motsoetsa tells KickOff.com that there is nothing to worry about regarding the Bafana Bafana fullback.
“I know it looked bad on TV but it was nothing serious, it was all just cramps,” says Motsoetsa.
“Even our paramedics came back saying that they thought the player was dying but it was nothing serious. You must understand that Khumalo was away on national duty and played 90 minutes in both matches at home against Sudan and away in Nigeria. So all the travelling can take its toll sometimes.
“But we will fully assess him today and other players and by tomorrow we will be able to give a detailed report about the bill of health. Sometimes it takes 24 to 48 hours to pick up other small injuries.”
