During the first half of extra time, with the score 2-2, Stars were given the chance to go 3-2 up when Mahlatsi Makudubela's cross hit Thabo Moloi's arm and the referee Thando Ndzandzeka pointed to the spot.
Rodgers stepped up but Williams dived to his left to keep out the penalty and then showed brilliant reflexes to save Rodgers' rebound effort with his legs and SuperSport United went on to get the winner through Thuso Phala.

Williams reveals: “I would like to give credit to our video analyst. Last night [Friday] we sat for long studying the penalties Platinum Stars took in their match against Chiefs in the [Telkom Knockout] quarter-finals,” Williams says.
“So I knew which side Eleazar was gonna go and the coach reminded me from the bench before that penalty which way Eleazar was gonna go. Luckily for me and the team, Eleazar hit it to my left and I was there to make the save.”
Igesund takes the story further by explaining his non-verbal interaction with the goalie as Rodgers prepared to take the spot kick and how it saved the day for Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
“I said to Ronwen before the game that in case he was faced with a penalty, then he must look at me and I will tell him what to do. I told him to go down to his left because Eleazar Rodgers usually takes penalties to the goalkeeper’s left,” Igesund concludes.
