Pitso: Don't make noise, win a trophy

Telkom Knockout

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane had a little dig at Kaizer Chiefs after his side reached the Telkom Knockout final, and they didn't.

Masandawana knocked out Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium after winning 2-1 to reach their first TKO final since 2015.

Sundowns will face Maritzburg United in the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on December 14 after the Team of Choice silenced Chiefs 2-1 at Mbombela Stadium.

After the match Mosimane addressed his side's recent run of poor form, especially in the league, which has seen Chiefs open up a 10-point lead on top of the Absa Premiership log.

"Mamelodi Sundowns always go through this every year, every year we wobble a little bit," Mosimane said.

"It's either going to be two draws, one loss or two losses, one draw. You know you can never become a bad team overnight, remember?

"Like really how many times have we proved that? Just that we were not winning the last three games and that makes a lot of noise at this point in time."

Mosimane then reminded the media that Sundowns are still champions and they have been dominating South African football for years.

"Who's got a league title? It's us, no one else. We have a league tittle, it's in Chloorkop. No has a trophy, it's at Chloorkop and we are defending it remember?

"So all this other noise it's okay, it's a good noise. Where is the trophy? The other one is in SuperSport United, they are all in Tshwane. Those are the last two trophies."

Chiefs supporters have found their voice again as the team leads the league title race but Mosimane believes it is useless to make noise when you have not won anything yet.

"There's noise, there is this, okay, but it's how you end hey. You can start very well and look very good, look promising to say 'this year, this is the year'.

"Okay, we talk in May. Let's talk in May, not now. So that's the way it is, no one has the trophy, it's us."
