Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha says the loss against Kaizer Chiefs motivated the side to work harder and play for the supporters.
The Brazilians were stretched to the limit after a 2-2 draw in extra-time, but they managed to overcome Chippa United in a penalty shoot-out, where they face Golden Arrows.
"Firstly I'd like to thank the coaches for giving me the opportunity to play, we knew that it was not going to be easy. We knew that they wanted it as much as we wanted it," Madisha told SuperSport TV after receiving his Man of the Match accolade.
"But it was all about how much do you want it? So for me to get this award, it's not only my contribution, it's our contribution, the Mamelodi Sundowns family. Our supporters came all the way from Johannesburg, to here [in Port Elizabeth]. They showed us too much love, whereby we didn't want to disappoint them," he continued.
"Us losing against Kaizer Chiefs gave us a morale of support, the opportunity to work hard, to show the talent that we have and to play for our supporters, it was a tough game but nonetheless we won it."
