Ramahlwe Mphahlele scored the only goal of the match as the Glamour Boys beat Matsatsantsa 1-0 in the quarter-final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“First half we didn’t have a good start. We couldn’t hold on to the ball for longer periods. We didn’t have good possession. We were not really threatening,” Tembo told SuperSport TV..

“We had a couple of breaks here and there but the first half belonged to Chiefs, they were the better team,” he continued.

“In the second half when we made changes we played much better. We brought in Thuso [Phala] and Evans [Rusike], we knew Evans won’t last 90 minutes [because of recurring injury] and we thought let’s give him 45 minutes because of game management. After that we were threatening, but not taking chances and shooting at goal. We never really did that.

“Chiefs dominated the first half and we dominated the second half but we couldn’t just get a goal. But credit to Chiefs they had a very good start and they deserved to win in terms of the first half performance,” the Zimbabwean tactician said.
