Chiefs slayer can smell TKO trophy

After helping his team beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout semifinals, Maritzburg United striker Judas Moseamedi has his eyes fixed on the trophy.

Moseamedi was the hero at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday as he scored a brace to help Maritzburg qualify for their first ever Telkom Knockout final, where they will face Mamelodi Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium on December 14.

However, the former Cape Town City striker will be playing in the TKO final for a second time with his coach Eric Tinkler after they both won it with the Citizens a few years ago.

The Team of Choice ace says they working together as a team to achieve their goal of winning silverware and finish in the top four this season.

"It's a great feeling [to be in the final]. We worked on certain movements at training and come the matchday we were connected and hence I managed to score those goals," Moseamedi tells

"I am very happy for the club and grateful for the opportunity they gave me. We are looking forward to winning the final.

"We are working very hard at training every day to at least get one trophy this season and finish in the top four."

Maritzburg will switch their minds from the cup final to concentrate on the league campaign for now as they welcome SuperSport United to Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
