AmaZulu coach Jozef Vukusic was not impressed with his side's mentality after they went 2-0 in the second half against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Usuthu had a day to forget at Lucas Moripe Stadium after suffering a 5-0 defeat to the Brazilians in the first round of the Telkom Knockout on Sunday afternoon.
"It's not easy to summarise because 5-0 is 5-0, so the result is like that. We must take it. I only hope we will learn a lot from this game," Vukusic said on SuperSport TV.
"The first half was like we expected, pressure from Sundowns but we were okay with 0-0 at 45 minutes, that first goal was unnecessary. Then we gave two next presents to them because the second goal was very soft and the third one as well, so against that quality you have no chance," the Slovakian-born mentor continued.
"But after that we played an open game, that mentality was there from the players that, "now is over" so we were open. If you play Sundowns that kind of game is exactly what they need, so they played, they took it, nice combinations, they score the next goal.
"I was not happy with that part of the game because if you lose 2-0 against Sundowns it's 2-0, if you lose 5-0 it's 5-0, even if it's a cup game, even if you were lose on penalties. There are many areas we need to work [on] but it's okay, it's normal. I took the team like that. It's a belief, we will learn from that, it was good that it was a cup game so we can focus on the league," he said.
