MATCH REPORT: SuperSport crowned TKO champs!

Igesund was seen signalling to Williams before Eleazar Rodgers took a vital spot-kick in the 108th minute, and said after the game that it was all pre-planned in case the game went to a penalty shootout.

"They had penalties before, we watched them very closely, and sometimes that's the difference between winning and losing a competition like this one, and he [Williams] made a magnificent save," said Igesund.

"I'm just happy that … I said to him, if they get a penalty or if it goes to penalties in this game I'll give you the signal and I don't care if you go the wrong way but I want you to dive full, full, full to the area that I point, and obviously he made a fantastic save.

"But coming back to the game, it was absolutely magnificent. It was a fantastic game, it was really a cup game. A lot of goals involved. I want to really say to Allan Freese, it was a fantastic game and thanks for giving us a game like this.

"A lot of people though 'ah, two unfashionable teams' so to speak – this couldn't have been more exciting for the people and the people who didn't come today misses a really good game."

The win was Igesund's first cup trophy since 2000 when he won the BP Top 8 with Orlando Pirates.
