Students, Arrows share spoils

The first half was a scrappy affair with neither side seriously threatening to open the score.

With both sides struggling to gain the upperhand in the first half, they headed into the break with the score still goalless.

Noah Chivuta handed The Students the lead in the 65th minute when he converted from the spot after Bienvenu Tipa was fouled inside the area by Thanduyise Khuboni.

However, Arrows responded positively to the setback and deservedly equalised seven minutes later when Vusumuzi Dhlamini slotted home from inside the area after Wits’ keeper Moeneeb Josephs parried Abia Nale’s shot.

Clive Moyo-Modise should have secured the points for the hosts in the 81st minute when he dragged his shot wide from inside the area, and with that went the final chance of the game.
