Justin Shonga's 20th minute strike saw the Buccaneers claim a 1-0 win at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday evening.

Komphela believes that his players lacked confidence in front of goal as he believes they should have come away with something from the game.

“I thought we had a good latter part of the first half. We looked quite convincing and settled. We were playing in a way that was showing that what we were doing at training is starting to come out,” Komphela told SuperSport TV.

“You need a little bit of belief in what you’re doing. There was stages where we were on point and there was an element of surprise about us or shock that it can’t be happening. We should be able to kill it,” he continued.

“Congratulations to Orlando Pirates, it was quite a nice match but sometimes tactical. There was a lot of chaos-pressing - counter-pressing from us, we lose it, counter-pressing from them. You could feel the sparks, the game is going there where any team that loses possession it counter presses then it becomes chaos.

“Obviously the speed at which Orlando Pirates plays, I thought their front runners, if you can allow them space to interplay they will give you problems. For the better of the game we controlled it.

“The only thing I thought we could have done better; just have the knack, the confidence to finish. We had more than enough chances to at least make it 1-1 or even 2-1.

“Confidence leads to belief, belief leads to faith. So we lacked that element of confidence so that we can belief more and then we’ll become faithful to our game model,” he said.
